Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Tea caddy spoons were developed during the late eighteenth century as specialized utensils for measuring loose leaf tea directly from a tea caddy into a teapot. Their short handles were designed to fit inside locked tea caddies alongside the tea canisters.

While the majority of high-grade caddy spoons were fashioned from hallmarked sterling silver, makers also utilised silver plate, mother-of-pearl, tortoise shell, bone, and pewter depending on the period and production region.

Authentic pieces from this period often display hand-hammered surfaces, pierced structural terminals, stylized botanical motifs, and legible British hallmark strikes including registered makers marks, city assay marks, and date letters.

Small silver hollowware and flatware pieces are frequently displayed in felt-lined glazed presentation cabinets, incorporated into framed shadow-box wall displays, or positioned alongside tea service trays on dining credenzas.

Sterling silver should be cleaned using a soft, non-abrasive cotton cloth and specialised silver polish to remove tarnish without degrading delicate chasing or piercing. Items should be stored in dry, acid-free anti-tarnish cloth bags.
