Mid C18th George II period mahogany 3-drawer cabriole legged low-boy .
Raised on four shapely cabriole legs onto pad feet, the shaped kneehole with a long drawer above and a deeper drawer to each side . The drawers with oak linings and each retaining their original brass drop handles with solid shaped back-plates.
The rectangular single-piece top with a moulded profile edge and re-entrant or ‘cusped’ corners to the front edge . The back being a single board of polished mahogany .
Has achieved a deep, rich colour and patina to the dense and tightly-grained heavy grade of selected quality Cuban mahogany.
An elegant and restrained mid Georgian period table in excellent original condition, the top having various historic marks and stains commensurate with age , use and purpose.
