Description

Antique Oak Double Chain Fusee Mantel Clock With A Silvered Dial Working Order.

This lovely antique mantel clock has an oak case with a lovely rich colour and grain. The top of the case is then arched with four shaped finals and a lovely moulding to the front and sides. The front of the case than has two beautiful shaped columns to the front edges as well as fretwork panels to the sides. There are then further moulding leading to the thick base which has shaped detailing to the front. Finally the clock is finished by four shaped feet.

The dial is then arched and silvered. It is set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. There is then two subsidiary dials to the arch to change the clock from “STRIKE” to “SILENT” as well as one to adjust the “FAST” and “SLOW”. The dial then has beautiful engraving and is finished by two lovely shaped hands.

The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is a double chain fusee example of the upmost quality striking on a gong. The clock works perfectly and comes complete with its regulating pendulum, winding key, and travel nut.

It measures approximately:

- 16” / 40.5cm Tall.

- 12.25” / 31cm Wide.

- 8” / 20.25cm Deep.
