Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Queen Anne chest on stand, often called a tallboy or highboy, is a two-part storage piece originating in the early 18th century. It features an upper chest of drawers mounted onto a lower table or stand supported by turned or cabriole legs.

These pieces were typically constructed with solid oak or pine frames clad in highly figured walnut veneers. Hardware usually consisted of cast brass drop handles and engraved brass escutcheons.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine secondary woods showing natural shrinkage, hand-forged iron nails, and original brass fittings with evidence of gentle oxidisation.

Position the piece as a focal point in a hallway, bedroom, or living area alongside neutral textiles and modern art to create contrast between historic craftsmanship and modern minimalism.

Keep the item away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent veneer lifting. Apply a high-grade beeswax polish periodically along the wood grain and dust with a soft microfiber cloth.
