This is an antique buckle back chair. An English, rosewood drawing room or side seat, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.

Beautifully appointed chair, ideal for the drawing room or reception hall

Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order

Superb stocks to the frame show fine grain interest and warm caramel hues

Benefits from a recent professional upholstering in tasteful silk cotton

Distinctive bowed crest rail with gently chamfered form

Buckle back splat presents a carved double tulip motif

Traditionally webbed seat cushion with charming patterned fabric
