Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
This stunning chest of drawers unusually features its fall moulded flame grain top moulding and stands on simple turned legs, the rear are a more slender turning which is original to this piece. This chest is in a lovely condition featuring its original French polished finish with its idyllic original deep yet lightly faded Mahogany colour. The front of this chest features its original brass keyhole escutcheons, turned knobs and each drawer is nicely framed with cock-beaded edges (none of which is missing).

The finely dovetailed drawers are in good condition, the drawers are smoothly operating and are clean inside.
The chest has been restored in our workshop so is solid with no loose joints or wobbles and is free from woodworm. The drawers have had some of the drawer runners replaced and rebuilt as necessary so now have little to no wear and do not drop when opened. The chest of drawers has been carefully cleaned and waxed, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen. This lovely restored chest of drawers is ready for a new home and good for many more years to come.

Being an antique item there are obviously marks, scratches, dents and some old repairs here and there as expected with anything of this age, However, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
