Oil on Panel: English Rural Landscape

19th century
Description

An interesting and somewhat ‘speculative’ OIL PAINTING on panel of a typical English bucolic scene which depicts two men fishing beside a tree in the foreground with farmworkers harvesting behind. Apparently unsigned, but titled (almost certainly spuriously!): J. Constable R.A. 1776-1837 behind glass on the inner slip frame. Measures 16ins x 19.5ins including the good original frame. Early 19th century Circa 1800-1820.
