Unusual Edwardian Silver Stamp Case By Sydney & Co 1909

A rare Edwardian solid silver stamp case. The case is hinged in the middle and opens at one end to reveal two interior compartments each side, in which to place stamps. Lovely plain polished silver with no engraving to the surfaces. The case opens perfectly and closes with a snap onto a small button leaver. Hallmarks are visible to both sides of the inside of the case, for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1909, Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker''s mark for the silversmith Sydney & Co. There is a small loop at the top for attachment.
 
 
 
Condition: In very good condition (some light surface scratching and a tiny pin prick sized impression to the silver on one side of the case, commensurate with age and mentioned for accuracy only).

Measurements: Height: 3.5 cm Width: 2.3 cm Depth: 8 mm Weight: 7.3 grams
