Edwardian 3.94 Carat Mogok Burmese Pink Sapphire Solitaire Ring, Circa 1910

Description

A magical Burmese pink sapphire ring from the early part of the 20th century. The impressive stone in the centre – certified as natural, unheated and coming from the mines in Mogok, Burma, which are accepted to yield the finest sapphires and rubies. This stone displays a bright purplish pink and, in sunlight, shows a clear asterism. The pink sapphire is secured by four double claws, with distinct ornate detailing in the gallery, and sits as low to the finger as the stone will allow. On a slim and tapering 18k yellow gold shank.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Burmese (Myanmar) in origin, from Mogok

Cut – Oval cabochon sapphire.

Colour – Pink.

Clarity – Eye clean.

Carat – 3.94.

Circa – 1910.

Size – P 1/2 (UK) or 7.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements – The sapphire is 8.5 x 7.6mm. Sits 6.1mm from the finger.

Metal – 18k yellow gold. French hallmarks.
