A Large late 19th Century School Mahogany & Oak Open Bookcase on Chest
Made by renowned cabinet maker Charles Hindley & Sons of Berner Street London.
Having a moulded cornice top over three adjustable deep shelves , the base fitted with two short drawers over two long graduating drawers constructed from Solid Oak fronts which have achieved a rather lovely weathered patina to the grain over time.
And intersecting the two is a very useful one piece mahogany top.
A really great item whom I am reliably told has resided in a school most of its life and is in country House Condition.
