Victorian Japonisme Green Ground Bobbin Turned Sutherland Occasional Table

Description

A Victorian Japonisme green-ground Sutherland table, circa 1880, the folding rectangular top with canted corners and a moulded edge, decorated in gilt in the Japanese taste with flowering boughs and scattered with insets, raised on bobbin-turned supports, the drop-leaf supports mounted with brass castors.

The table is a unusual colour in a soft, deep green as they are more commonly black.

69cm high, 57cm deep, 68cm cm wide when extended (21cm wide with both leaves down).
