Regency Gilt Pier Mirror

Description

An Early 19th Century Gilt Pier Mirror.

The break front pediment mounted with corvetto balls, above a frieze topped with a leaf moulding, and thence a rounded reeded facing, centred by a conch shell tablet. The frieze flanked by a pair of alcoves, within which stand classical maidens. The alcoves supported by rope twist columns, finished with rounded caps and bases, enclosing the rectangular plate, the frame finished to the lower edge with a concave and convex profile mould, flanked by the column plinths.

Date circa 1820.
