Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco display cabinets from the 1920s and 1930s typically feature bold geometric silhouettes, such as circular or octagonal frames, executed in rich timber veneers like burr walnut or mahogany. Glazed doors frequently incorporate stylized astragal glazing bars in fan, sunburst, or rectilinear arrangements.

Craftsmen predominantly utilized solid wood frameworks veneered with highly figured woods such as burr walnut, macassar ebony, or zebrano. Doors featured clear float glass with decorative timber glazing bars, internal adjustable glass shelves, and brass or chrome hardware.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-matched veneer patterns, period-correct lock mechanisms, and minor natural age variations in the glass and finish. Look for original structural joinery, such as dovetail joints on internal drawer elements and period brass hinges.

A circular Art Deco cabinet serves as a focal point against a neutral or dark backdrop in a living room, dining room, or hallway. Its strong geometric lines balance modern minimalist furnishings while providing functional storage for glassware or ceramics.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfiber cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually to nourish the timber veneer. Avoid direct sunlight and damp environments to prevent veneer lifting or discoloration, and clean the glass panels with a mild glass cleaner applied directly to a cloth.
