A decorative pair of oriental Japanese Meiji period antique pictures with black lacquered backgrounds and shibayama technique of inlaid mother of pearl and abalone shell. There are mountainous and pagoda scenes in the background with a male and female in tradition attire on a boat in the water in the foreground finished with gilt detail. The panels sit in circular red lacquered frames with gilt cherry blossom hand painted detail.
