A Decorative Striking Carriage Clock

1900 - 1920
Description

A quality French brass cased striking carriage clock of larger proportions. A gilt chapter ring dial with blued steel hands surrounded by ivory fretwork. Fretwork panels to the top, base and case sides. A gilt brass case with a fluted decorative carrying handle and matching design to the pillars. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Push button repeating. A lever escapement. Circa 1900.
