This is a rare late 1700s chip carved box possibly a travelling make up box.
Beautifully decorated with chip carved decoration on the lids and two of the sides. Inset with two small mirrors on the outside framed with fruitwood..
One of the lids slides open to reveal a mirror the size of the box and if you turn the box over the other lid slides open for storage, possibly of make up, hair accessories, patches etc.
This great box measures 10cm w x 3.5cm h x 8cm d.
