19th C Rosewood and Mother of Pearl Inlaid Work Box

Description

A lovely 19th C rosewood box with mother of pearl inlay to the pagoda top and front, the doors opening to reveal 3 working drawers, each with mother of pearl inlay and knobs. The bottom drawer with ink pot/pen divisions and a leather and gilt tooled writing slope, the slope opening into another, larger writing slope with purple velvet.

The hinged top opening to reveal an inner tray top (the fourth "faux" drawer) with divisions and a pocketed mirror with gilt tooled leather surround within the lid. The middle drawers each with red embossed silk lining and interior divisions. Lovely box with so many features!
