A quality Victorian stick barometer by Robinson of London and Shrewsbury. A mahogany case of rich colour and good proportions with a carved pediment. Carved detailing to the dial sides and the cistern cover. An ivorine scale with weather remarks and signed by the maker. Twin vernier slide adjuster to mark the rise & fall in air pressure shown from 27-31''.
 
Henry Robinson of London (Bishopsgate) and Shrewsbury (High Street) is listed in Banfield''s ''Barometer Makers and Retailers'' book as working in 1870
