Description

This is a super quality silver brooch in the form of a hand.

Fully marked for Birmingham.

On the reverse is a plaque for H S Ellis, Exeter, Reg October 21st 1847. I have had this plaque on the reverse of a Cloak Pin made by Ellis which was made of silver from the Combe Martin mine in Devon. This could well be made from the same silver. Ellis did have some of his items made and hallmarked in Birmingham

The ring has small stones in which could well be diamond chips, I have no way of testing.

The fastening on the reverse has been replaced at some point.
