Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An antique draughtsman tool set contains precision drafting instruments, such as compasses, ruling pens, and scale rules, used historically by architects, engineers, and cartographers for technical drawing prior to digital computer-aided design.

These sets typically feature precision-machined brass or nickel-silver instruments housed in a polished mahogany or rosewood case, often lined with silk or velvet, alongside bone or ivory scale rules.

Authentic Edwardian sets generally exhibit maker marks or trade labels from recognised late 19th and early 20th-century instrument makers, along with precise hand-cut fittings, natural patina on metal components, and original timber cases.

Open cases displaying brass instruments add an intellectual and tactile element when styled on a library desk, bookshelf, or console table alongside framed maps or historical reference books.

Keep metal instruments dry and clean using a soft microfibre cloth, lightly wax timber cases to preserve the finish, and store away from direct sunlight or humid environments to prevent brass oxidisation and velvet fading.
