This Antique elm blanket box was made circa1830.

Made of the very attractive Elm boards and now with a wonderful build up of colour and patina.

This would have been made in a country workshop to be used for carrying a craftsman’s’ precious tools or to be taken to sea.

The lid opens to reveal the preserved interior surface, and the lid having the original blacksmith made decorative hinges.

To each end the original steel carrying handles have survived.
