Description

A fine 18th. Century period oil on canvas portrait of a Country Squire dating around circa 1760-80.

Presented in a superb original early hand crafted carved gilt wooden frame.

This portrait is all in very good original untouched condition and has never been relined.

The sitter is seen wearing typical huntsmans clothing,namely a three quarter length heavy coat.

This opulent looking gentleman would be ideally suited to hanging in a large country house,perhaps above the fireplace,or in the hallway or study.

The study is well painted and full of charactor,with good detail in the sitters facial expressions,

especially captured in the gentlemans eyes,which almost seem to be watching you.
