Atropos Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
They are still operating, although long ago, left their fashionable london address.

They were one of the foremost suppliers of collectors cabinets in the late 19th century and cleverly managed their range by producing starter cabinets for those with a lower budget and a climbing list up to the 'de-luxe' model. This cabinet is, indeed, a de-luxe model. Finely figure honduras mahogany throughout and in excellent condition with original lock, key and hinges and riding on the original hidden casters.

All the drawers have been professionally re-lined with acid free white cartridge over original virgin cork.
This cabinet is ready to be used for a multitude of collecting pursuits and I commend it as an exceptional and rare example. To have such a piece made now would cost many times the price and would come nowhere near the quality!
