Description

A very handsome 'Serapi' type rug from North West Persia, woven with a single weft, so it is very fine and distinguishable as a 'Karadja' weave, as opposed to Heriz. With a bold medallion of beautifully articulated leaves on a deep navy ground, in colours of olive, pale blue, mid blue, salmon and pale pink, within a broad and handsome navy border. In outstandingly good condition with original ends and sides. A beautiful small carpet!
