The desk is a good generous size with ample room to sit at. The kneeholes measure 23 1/2" (60cm) wide x 26" (66cm) high.
Each drawer is constructed with hand cut dovetails and has brass plate handles. There is an unusual Wellington style locking flap over both sets of drawers and the cupboards have shelved interiors. The desk comes with a working key for the drawer locks and the cupboard doors as well. It is worth noting that there is no middle drawer above the kneehole. The top of the desk has a good quality green leather writing surface with a gilt tooled edge.
The desk is in very good condition for its age. It has a lovely rich patina and the drawers open well. There are some normal signs of age and use, some light surface marks and knocks here and there but nothing untoward. The inside of the drawers are generally clean and tidy with just some minor ink stains. The leather writing surface is in good condition with a few old marks and stains but nothing detrimental. The desk has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
