Large Fine Quality 19thc George Morland Antique Hand-coloured Engraving Hunting

£469    $640    €551
LARGE FINE QUALITY 19thc GEORGE MORLAND ANTIQUE HAND-COLOURED ENGRAVING HUNTING

Brief Description:

This is a fabulous quality original early 19th-century Hand-Coloured Engraving after the famous British artist George Morland (1763-1804).

Entitled: Preparing for the Hunt!

The very impressive piece is entirely original throughout, retaining the very large original gilt moulded gesso frame together with the original 19th-century Regency period glass panel that incorporates an ebonised and gilt border.

It is also a fabulous subject matter, with two huntsmen preparing their horses and excited gun hounds for the imminent hunt.

The colours throughout the work are truly exceptional and the images do not do it justice!

Upon very close inspection of an eyeglass one can see that it is an original hand-coloured piece, although I must apologise in advance that I do not know the difference between an engraving or an etching, so please bear this in mind when you are deciding whether or not to purchase the piece.

A truly wonderful original antique that will look fabulous in any setting.
