Edmund Bristow was specialised in subject paintings, sporting scenes and animals. He lived at Eton and Windsor, where he was a court painter for the Duke of Clarence, later William IV. Bristow exhibited in London at the Royal Academy, the British Institution and the Suffolk Street gallery from 1809 to 1838.
