Description

A gorgeous pair of Geo.II silver candlesticks by master silversmith, John Cafe. The detailed and intricate design is magnificent.
John Cafe was apprenticed to James Gould in 1730 after which his brother William joined him in 1740. John died in 1757, by which time he had made his name as a master silversmith and was renowned for his exceptional work with candlesticks.
This pair are 22 cms tall and hallmarked with an "O" which would date them to 1749-50.
