Antique Oak and Metal Bound Trunk

Description

A charming antique oak and metal bound trunk. The oak trunk has metal bindings to the edges and carry handles to either side. The hinged dome cover opens to reveal a lift-tray with a spacious interior below. There is a brass plaque ‘Savoury & Sons, Goldsmiths, 14 Cornhill, London’.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related scratches and marks to the tops and sides. The metal work is slightly rusted but the oak trunk remains structurally solid and sound. The hinges are running smoothly and the lift-out lid can be lifted out with ease. Overall, a wonderful example of an antique oak and metal bound trunk.
