In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The shade can also be tilted to direct the angle of the light. It has a push on/off switch in the base.
The base of the lamp is approximately 6 3/4" (17cm) diameter. The shade is 9" (23cm) wide and the lamp stands 16" (40cm) tall.
The lamp has been re-wired with braided flex and PAT Tested and is in good working order. It takes a standard bayonet bulb (bulb not included with lamp).
It is in good condition for its age. The finish has tarnished and worn slightly over time and there are signs of age and use and some minor dinks and surface marks here and there but overall it displays very well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
