AN EXCELLENT QUALITY WHITE 9CT GOLD RAF PATHFINDER SQUADRON PIN BADGE,INSET APPEARS TO BE GARNET MOUNTED TO THE CROWN STUDDED WITH DIAMONDS, REVERSE STAMPED 9CT WITH PIN ATTACHMENT.

The Path Finder Force was a highly specialised elite group which, from 1942 until 1945, led the bombing operations against Nazi Germany.

The Path Finder Force’s motto made its purpose clear: “We Guide to Strike“. Its crews acted not only as target-markers, but as guides and leaders on the long routes to the targets. They were also on rare occasions reallocated to Main Force roles.

In the Second World War, the Path Finder Force was the RAF’s only officially delineated elite force. As such, it had a unique emblem of an eagle badge. The badge was worn on the left-hand-side breast pocket of the RAF uniform, under any decorations.
