A two tier Japanese carved table for Liberty & Co.
Standing on shaped and carved legs. In good original condition with numbered stamp below both shelves.
These tables were commissioned by Liberty & Co, and hand-carved in Japan. The firm imported Middle Eastern and Oriental goods sympathetic to the ideals of the Art movements in the late 19th Century. Some of these tables were flat packed and required putting together after their long journey to Liberty’s Regent Street store, hence the numbered undersides of the shelves.
In good original condition with numbered stamp below ‘814’
