English rosewood teapoy with green velvet interior c. 1840. Sarcophagus shaped main body, further embellished with moulding and finely carved handles. Hinged lid opens to reveal adapted interior compartment. Top is supported on fluted stem supported by quadriform base with finely carved feet. Used condition with some minor surfaces marks, small crack to lid.
