Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Danish Sknvirke silver developed in the early twentieth century as Scandinavias answer to the Art Nouveau movement. It combined organic, nature-inspired motifs with clean, modern lines and traditional hand-hammered craftsmanship.

Danish silversmiths typically crafted flatware from high-grade silver, such as 830 silver or 925 sterling silver standard. Pieces were often hand-chased and finished to highlight details in the relief work.

Authentic pieces generally feature the makers hallmark stamp for Evald Nielsen alongside standard Danish silver purity marks or three-tower stamps. Look for crisp detailing on the decorative finials and precise craftsman marks on the reverse of the stem.

These pieces can be displayed in a shallow glass dome or styled alongside ceramic tea sets on a dining sideboard tray. Mixing antique silver with modern minimalist tableware creates a balanced contrast on open shelving.

Hand wash flatware in warm water with mild detergent and dry immediately with a soft cloth. Use a non-abrasive silver polish occasionally to remove oxidisation while preserving the natural dark patina in carved details.
