An absolutely lovely vintage pendant. The phenomenal black opal displays an impressive play of colour, with clear flashes of green and blue. The stone is secured in a milgrained platinum rubover setting atop a closed yellow gold gallery, with a bright and lively transitional cut diamond – also rubover set in platinum and yellow gold – which hangs from a ‘V’ bale.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the opal is natural and shows no indication of treatment.
Cut – Oval cabochon black opal and old mine cut diamond.
Colour – The diamond is G.
Clarity – The diamond is VS2.
Carat – The opal is approximately 2.30 carat; the diamond is approximately 0.15 carat.
Circa – 1910.
Measurements – The opal is approximately is 11.3 x 8.8mm. From the top to the bottom of the pendant (not including the bale) is 18.6mm.
