Rare Antique English Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Box - 1911

Description

A fabulous and extremely stylish sterling silver box, clearly arts and crafts in design, simple standing on the most stunning organic inspired legs.

The hinges too are quite wonderful, shaped strapping with exterior hinges make it look rather like a trunk or treasure chest.

The lid fits well and when opened the interior is washed in gold. The box is hallmarked for London 1911, so celebrating it's centenary this year. The makers initials R & Co are also present for the silversmith Robinson & Co., it is also signed on the underside, Robinson & Co. The Square, Shrewsbury.

Excellent condition, measuring 5 1/4" x 2" (foot to foot) x 2 1/8" tall.
