William Greaves "Wharfedale" Oil Painting

Description

William Greaves (1852-1938) was born in Leeds and studied at Sheffield College of Art. He travelled and exhibited widely at galleries including the Royal Academy, Royal Cambrian Academy, Manchester and Liverpool. He worked mostly in oils and his subjects include landscapes in and around Wharfedale in Yorkshire and Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire.

"A View over Wharfedale from Harewood Road, East Keswick" is an attractive oil painting on board by Greaves, painted close to the artist's home. Measuring 14"x 20", the picture is signed and is framed in a gilt frame giving an overall size of 20"x 25".
