Antique English Pewter 1 Quart Measure, Thomas & Townsend Compton, 1802-1814. 'gilcomston Brewery', Aberdeen.

Description:
 
A good straight sided 1 quart measure by Thomas & Townsend Compton of London, who worked 1802-1814.
 
The measure has a plain straight sided body with a large curve handle with thumb rest, attached to the body with a large escutcheon. There is a WR Crown verification to the left of the handle and a clear makers mark inside the base.
 
The front of the measure is engraved in large script, ''Gilcomston Brewery 12''. Gilcomston Brewery was in Aberdeen Scotland.

Condition:
 
Excellent condition with a lightly polished silver grey finish and some small traces of light oxide.
 
Repairs: There are no repairs that I could detect.
