Mike Melody Antiques has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
Primarily oak with some ebonized panels in between the door mouldings.
It has original iron ring pin pulls.
The hinges and lock /lock escutcheon are original.
It measures 44cms h 44cms w and 22cms deep. And has ebonized feet .
It can either be free standing or wall hanging.
Spices were prized and highly sought after in the 17th century hence these small locking cabinets.
In superb condition for its great age and it only has minor restorations.
It was originally sold in a sotherby s oak sale ,chester in 2001 ex wirral trust.
Hard to find in this condition and as normal offered at our normal realistic price .
