Description

A rare and highly collectible jar made from heavy cut crystal and topped with the creme de la creme of lids.

The sterling silver frame is inset with a hand-painted Royal Worcester plaque featuring wild ducks with a Mallard in-flight to the forefront, and signed by the renowned James Stinton. The interior of the lid retains an original mirror.

The sterling silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1929, together with the makers initials S & M for the silversmiths, Sanders & Mackenzie -Ernest Wilfred Sanders & Henry Arthur Mackenzie.

Excellent condition, there is some all-over glaze crazing not really seen with the naked eye but seen with a magnifying glass.

The glass bowl measures 3" in diameter, the lid 2 3/4"; stands 2 1/2" tall.
