Drischler, and mounted on a marble socle. It features the figure in action dressed in tradional native costume with his hand raised above his eyes blocking out the sun.
This high quality hot cast solid bronze was produced using the traditional 'lost wax' process.
The attention to detail is absolutely fantastic and the sculpture is extremely life-like.

Joseph Drischler
presumably studied at the Academy in Berlin around 1880. He was initially active at the workshop of the famous Berlin sculptor Rudolf Siemering (1835-1905). He then spent some time in America, before returning to Berlin.
Drischler’s oeuvre includes a number of monuments as well as finely modelled figurines that were cast, among others, by the Berlin art foundry Gladenbeck.
