Impressive large scale pair of early C19th French Restauration period bronze and ormolu candelabras.
Raised on exuberant cast scroll feet mounted on concave-sided tripartite bases , the ormolu-mounted tapering column shafts with cast leaf detail , and having a coiled snake or serpent on midway .
Taking their inspiration from antiquity , the three candle-holder arms mounted upon a stylised Greco-Roman oil vessel ,with a central cast ormolu candle knozzle . The underside cast with well-defined large classical anthemion motifs .
In excellent original condition, the dark patinated bronze contrasting with the well-cast and detailed gilded ormolu mounts. One minor historic ding or dent to one column.
A bold pair of candelabras with huge decorative appeal , to add drama and scale to an interior.
