Fabulous Art Deco Silver & Guilloche Enamel Toiletry Jar by Charles Green & Co, Birmingham 1933

1920 - 1940
Description

This exquisite Art Deco silver and botanical inspired guilloche enamel jar is dated Birmingham 1933. It bears the marks of the reputed silversmiths Charles S. Green & Co. The pale graduated lemon yellow and pink guilloche enamel lid decorated with a spray of bluebells. The centre with solid silver baluster finial. It is fitted on a sliced-cut glass body with a sliced-cut everted notch rim and smooth pontil base.

Hallmarks:

CSG&Co for Charles S Green & Co Ltd.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "O" for 1933.

Condition:

Very good

Very minor discolouration where the enamel meets the silver border, does not detract from the overall appearnce and mentioned for accuracy and as illustrated.

Glass in perfect condition. No chips or cracks.

Dimensions:

Height up to finial: 7cm / 2.5 inches.

Diameter: 11cm / 4.2 inches.
