Description

A rare French 18ct gold snuff box, probably made by Jean Fremin of Paris around 1770. It has hallmarks on the lid and base and overall is in excellent condition. The 9 part hinge is tight and the lid fits well. The box was sent to the Birmingham assay office who confirmed that it is made of 18ct rose gold. The engraving of musical instruments, flowers and butterflies are crisp and beautifully done on all surfaces. It is a very collectable piece that has a high inherent value.
