Description

Mid-size silver J W Benson wrist watch, 1938.

The watch has a 15-jewel Cyma calibre 364 hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 22.5mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the lugs so it is classed as a mid-size piece. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for Birmingham 1938, together with the maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison an English case maker and supplier to various watch manufacturers. There is a mark to the side of the case but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The lens is in good condition (reflection showing in the photos).

The dial is signed with the name J W Benson. It is in its original finish with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. There is a shade of darkening to the dial but still easy to read the time.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
