Description

This Japonism glass bowl is attributed to Francois-Eugene Rosseau (1827-1891) and Baccarat. It was made in the 1880s as part of the Aesthetic movement which was heavily influenced by Japan.

The clear glass bowl has an amber tint. It is formed of six lobed sections with a circular base. It is painted in enamel to the exterior with Japanese inspired designs.

There is a chip to the rim where the blue lozenge is. There is also a tiny chip to the edge of the foot. There are a number of scuffs to the interior of the bowl, some losses to the enamel and general wear and tear from age.
