1930s French Swan Bookends Marble Bases

1920 - 1940
Description

A Deco era pair of French spelter and marble bookends c1930. The bookends are formed of two swans cast in spelter metal with a bronzed finish which are seated on dark grey veined marble bases. The swans beaks are positioned at just the right height to keep the books in place with the weight provided by the swans bodies and heavy marble bases. The bases are lined beneath with felt paper. In excellent condition.
