A Charming Victorian Cased Silver Thimble

This is a delightful late 19th Century Victorian antique silver thimble, presented here in it's original case. The thimble is fully hallmarked and was made by specialist thimble maker Samuel Foskett, who was based in Great Sutton Street Clerkenwell.

The case has the charming provenance of the retailer and is marked "R L Triggs, The Cash Jeweller, Hackney".

Triggs had shops in Mare Street, Hackney and Lower Clapton Road, putting them in the vicinity of the maker's workshop in the City. A lovely piece with an interesting insight into late Victorian London life. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or holes. The base is very slightly uneven, commensurate with age and use.
