This Victorian shaped walnut loo table was made circa 1870.

Loo was a popular parlour game in the Victorian period, the upper and middle classes would invite families and friends to join them to play the game. The wonderful, shaped top with the Irish carving running around the lower moulding and a thumb moulding above, the burr walnut book matched highlighting the heartwood at the centre that is slightly darker in tone.

The magnificent base with the shaped cluster supports with the fine turned finial in the centre and then the quadruple finely carved cabriole legs below.
