The cherub-surmounted detachable covers revealing removable zinc-liners for holding chilled wine or champagne bottles . The handles being cast as intertwined grape-vines . The bases cast with two cherub figures filling a basket of grapes , their celebratory musical instruments behind them.

In the style of the C18th French sculptor Claude Michel (1738-1814) , known as ‘Clodion’ .
In excellent original condition, the gilt having a gently worn surface with a ‘soft’ hue .
